Fortunately there were no significant injuries, but the boat was so large and sank so deep that it could not be raised. Years later, filmmaker James Cameron went down in a submersible and filmed the wreckage as part of an Imax film. A year later the River Belle was replaced with the Mark Twain, and the few pieces of wreckage that floated to the surface were are on display at the River Belle Terrace Restaurant.
