For years after this, people referred to buying low quality items as "shopping at the bay." Almost half a century later, the term was immortalized when "shopping at the bay" became "eBay."

TRUE OR FALSE?  Disneyland on July 17, 1955 Opening Day Morning, before the park opened, Walt Disney walked the park to be sure it was ready to open he was disappointed when he saw there were so many areas unfinished. TRUE OR FALSE?  In 1955 at Disneyland, employee 'cast members' were not counting the people boarding the River Belle and the riverboat was filled way beyond capacity and sunk at the far end of Tom Sawyer Island. Fortunately there were no significant injuries, but the boat was so large and sank so deep that it could not be raised. Years later, filmmaker James Cameron went down in a submersible and filmed the wreckage as part of an Imax film. A year later the River Belle was replaced with the Mark Twain, and the few pieces of wreckage that floated to the surface were are on display at the River Belle Terrace Restaurant.
